New York/ *1951 Artist and writer Recent activities include one-person shows at Art In General NY, Rutgers University, The University of Vermont and RISD (Rhode Island School of Design). Her artist's books, published by Warm Gun Press, are distributed by Printed Matter, New York. Her artwork has been reviewed by The New York Times, Art on Paper, The Village Voice, The New Yorker, Arts Magazine, the Philadelphia Inquirer and other publications. In 2002 she will be a visiting artist at Klenova Castle, near Prague and at Anderson Ranch, Aspen, Colorado. In 2001 she was an artist-in-residence at Yaddo, NY and a senior fellow at the Terra Foundation, Giverny, France. She has organized many multi-disciplinary symposia at the New School University, NY and curated numerous exhibitions, most recently at Rotunda Gallery, New York (2000). From 1990 through 1996 she was the executive editor of Art Journal, published by the College Art Association of America. Lenore Malen teaches in the graduate painting and sculpture program at Parsons School of Design, a division of New School University. |
