Studied at the Central Institute of Fine Arts in Peking. Based in Paris since 1990, he freelances as a critic, curator and as advisor for the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam. In his shows he explores the cultural intersection between tradition and modernity under various conditions all over the world. He investigates how modernity rewrites the process of social transformation of different societies, and how it is visualized. Most of his exhibitions have been accompanied by catalogues and other publications with articles by H.H.
