What is the future or the "art of the future"?

My answer is:

The future is always - and fortunately so - a most exciting probability. The art of the future is the most exciting "X" factor, symbolically or otherwise, enticingly and totally speculative and undoubtedly immune to complete closure. To be sure, in contemplating Janus, the two-headed Roman god, we find in his two-faced duplicity the paradoxical answer to the how, why, or what of art. The ultimate value of art is the quality that lubricates its attendant contradictions, regardless of past, present or future.
