Artist, critic, curator and lecturer

The artwork of Dave Beech has been exhibited widely across Europe and the USA, including Tate Modern (a bit part in Century City) and more recently in the Bookworks project "Small Gold Medal" and Kenny Schachter's CONtemporary Gallery, New York.

He is a regular writer for "Art Monthly" and other art magazines such as "Untitled" and "Mute", and has contributed to several books, including the recent anthology dedicated to his writing with John Roberts and selected responses: "The Philistine Controversy" (London: Verso 2002).

He is currently the Subject Leader of Fine Art as Social Practice at the University of Wolverhampton after having taught on the M.A. Fine Art course at Chelsea College of Art. And is co-director of FLOATING IP gallery, Manchester.

Dave Beech has lectured at the Whitney Independent Study Program and given papers at several conferences, including the Association of Art Historians' Conference, for which he has convened a session under the heading "Political Art Now" which will be published as a special issue of "Third Text" (London: Routledge) in the Winter.
