Independent curator and writer based in Berlin.
Studied theatre directing and drama theory at the School for Performing Arts - Ernst Busch in Berlin and received a M.A. from DasArts - School for Advanced Research in Theatre & Dance Studies in Amsterdam (1998).
Worked for institutions and exhibitions such as: Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; Dia Center for the Arts, New York; Portikus Kunsthalle, Frankfurt a.M.; documenta X, Kassel; Laboratorium, Antwerp; P.S. 122, New York.
Developed a performance project entitled "A Little Bit of History Repeated" for Kunst-Werke, Berlin (Nov. 2001). Co-author, together with the American artist Joan Jonas, of "Perform", a publication on contemporary performance, for Thames and Hudson, London (2002).
Jens Hoffmann is a frequent contributor to "Trans>Arts.Culture.Media.", "NU: The Nordic Art Review" and "Flash Art International".
