Lawrence Chin studied Fine Arts in Kent, England (1991-1994) and completed his post-graduate studies in the conservation of paintings in Newcastle, England (1999-2001). He has been working as a paintings conservator in Singapore, since 1995. His current (visual and textual) research interest is centered on issues pertaining to the question of representation in the realm of cultural production - its necessity and its (im)possibility. In his spare time, Lawrence Chin maintains a personal web-log with links to various art news items.
