Jan-Erik Lundström, born in Jokkmokk, lives and works in Umeå/Sweden. He is director of BildMuseet, the museum of Umeå University. Recent curatorial projects include ‘Democracy's Images – Photography and Visual Art After Apartheid’ (BildMuseet, 1997, international tour); ‘Socialisms’ (for Stockholm Art Fair, 1999); ‘Adriana Varejão’ (BildMuseet, 2000); ‘Adrian Paci – Albanian Stories’ (BildMuseet and touring); ‘Killing Me Softly’ (Tirana Biennale, 2001); ‘Projects for a Revolution’ (Biennale de Montreal, 2001) and ‘Politics of Place’ (BildMuseet, 2002 and touring).
