Jan-Erik Lundström, born in Jokkmokk, lives and works in Umeå/Sweden. He is director of BildMuseet, the museum of Umeå University. Recent curatorial projects include Democracy's Images Photography and Visual Art After Apartheid (BildMuseet, 1997, international tour); Socialisms (for Stockholm Art Fair, 1999); Adriana Varejão (BildMuseet, 2000); Adrian Paci Albanian Stories (BildMuseet and touring); Killing Me Softly (Tirana Biennale, 2001); Projects for a Revolution (Biennale de Montreal, 2001) and Politics of Place (BildMuseet, 2002 and touring).
