El Grupero de los Cornflakes

Elements:

- a person who knows how to sing and play Northern Mexican songs (it doesn’t matter if he is a lousy singer). This person will be referred to as El Grupero. He has to be dressed in Northern Mexican style.

On top of a table there is:

- a bowl
- a spoon
- 50 boxes of Corn Flakes

On the floor:

- a red circle in front of the table

In the exhibition space:

- lighting
- at least one video camera to document the event
- the public

El Grupero has to sing and play music all along the exhibit, except for those moments when someone for any reason makes any contact with the red circle on the ground. As long as someone is touching the circle, El Grupero has to pour cornflakes in the bowl. It doesn’t matter if the cornflakes fall out of the bowl or the table. When the person gets out of the circle, El Grupero will continue with his singing. El Grupero cannot do anything else but pour cereal and sing. The action is over when there is no more cereal left in the boxes.
