Due to certain circumstances here in New York City, it is impossible to think about the future. We are living day by day minute by minute. It is too soon to construct the effects of this radical change on American society. And how this will trickle down to the arts, who knows? The future remains unknown.
But my work has always been about the past (the past is the future) and war (at least for the last 16 years), so to that extent my gestalt will not change. Ironically, the world has come around to a perspective that until recently kept me as an outsider. Now I am an ungrateful insider. The reality of real war has finally hit America. And this is a dreadful thing to say, but I hope this reality will change America and American art for the better.
