Michelle Antoinette is presently based in Canberra, Australia, undertaking the Ph.D. Graduate Program in Interdisciplinary Cross-Cultural Research with the Humanities Research Centre at the Australian National University.
Her Ph.D. research focuses on Southeast Asian contemporary art and the politics of representation. Of particular interest is the place of Southeast Asian diaspora artists in shaping our knowledge of "Southeast Asian" contemporary art. Indonesian, Malaysian, Philippine and Singaporean contemporary artists feature prominently.
Prior to her postgraduate studies, Michelle Antoinette completed a B.A. (with Honours) in Visual Arts at Monash University, Melbourne. |
