Art theorist and critic, born in New York City. Currently based in Los Angeles as the 2001-2002 Critic in Residence in Fine Arts at the Otis College of Art and Design. She is also on the graduate critical writing faculty at Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles. An author of over 100 articles, catalogue essays and interviews on the zany, the malcontent, the mystical and the grotesque in art, and a curator of the idiosyncratic, Greenstein has focused her critical attention on contemporary imagery that derives from L. A. and cities situated on the Indian subcontinent and throughout the "Asia Pacific" region. She is a past contributing editor to "World Art" and 'Artweek' magazines and presently contributes to 'Artext', 'Artissues', 'Art Asia Pacific', and 'Art India'. Prior to taking the post at Otis, Greenstein served as the Critic in Residence at the National Central University in Taiwan on a 1999-2000 Fulbright-Hays Lecture/Research grant for Taiwan and Mainland China.
