James R. Watson is professor of philosophy at Loyola University, New Orleans and President of the "Society for the Philosophic Study of Genocide and the Holocaust" - www.loyno.edu/~spsgh. His recent books are: Between Auschwitz and Tradition: The Postmodern Task of Thinking; Portraits of American Continental Philosophers; and Contemporary Portrayals of Auschwitz: Philosophical Challenges. He has published extensively on, among others, Heidegger and Nietzsche; and on modern "ism's" as marxism, existentialism, postmodernism and feminism. The photographic works are in many private collections in the United States, Germany and Italy.
